When I was a kid I have fond memories of the Ronald McDonald and all the other characters along with going in the play area and a fun enjoyable atmosphere. Now when I go to McDonald's it's almost as if they are trying to act like some gourmet dining place with mcafé and pastries and somewhat of a coffee shop atmosphere
What happend to the characters and why has McDonald's decided to change.

There was a huge investigation into the germs that these places carried, with so many different kids playing and they were never or rarely cleaned. The amount of germs that were found was widely publicized and people began to realize those places were maggots for germs. I don't know about their acting like gourmet dining places, which they are clearly not but, they probably added to their menu to keep up with other similar fast food places and they may have changed some of their foods, based on supply, demand and to keep their costs as low as they possibly could.

they want to look more classy and fresh. They got a bad rep for catering and pushing fast food on children as well. Now they feel like they have to look "hip and fresh" to attract everyone from the college student to the older generation. Really They are not Healthy or Fresh. Their vegetables such as lettuce and tomato's are even modified to look prettier to Us when really they have no nutritional value at all.

McDonald's wants to change their image. They don't want to look like a regular fast food chain, they want to look a little classier. So that's why they did this, I personally don't mind it. I think it looks pretty nice, more than the old style.

Well, they attracted all the kids for $$$. Now that they have the money, they want to look the best. As much as I hate it, I love it. Yummmmy
