The food? Definitely not. The beverages? That depends on whether you include the coffee grounds that you buy. I will buy a Raspberry latte on occassion, but it's not worth the money if you're going all the time. Also it makes a difference if you're just grabbing a coffee to go or if you're planning on sitting there for two hours with your laptop.

As for the coffee grounds or beans, they're typically around $8-$10 a bag, which is about the same as most high-end coffee and certainly worth the price when compared to cheaper grounds or beans.

So generally I say it's definitely worth it to buy the bags of coffee, and worth it to buy the beverages at the shop if it's on occasion, but if you're the type to go through the drive-through every morning before work rather than making your own most of the time, then no. Your wallet will shrink very fast.

(All my opinion of course, like the rest of the answers)

NO! It's become sort of a status symbol to carry that Starbucks cup around. I can come up with numerous reasons why their offerings are NOT worth the high price and I can find numerous ways to spend my money on things that might actually be useful in life. I frequent a grocery store that has a Starbuck's kiosk in it. You can get a cup of coffee in the deli for 50 cents and pick up a danish in the bakery for 50 cents. The same danish Starbucks charges 2 or 3 dollars. Insanity!

No every cup of coffee i ever had tasted Burnt While they make delicious other treats The pricing is way too high For what you get So i dont even bother with them Not that my not patronizing in any Starbucks makes a difference There always crowded and as long as thats happening the prices can be driven farther up As long as demand is there They will set there own "fair "prices Which are not really fair just expensive

Absolutely not. I have never spent a single dime there and likely never will (I've only ever entered a Starbucks to meet someone or to accompany a friend). Starbucks has never really been about the products themselves but about the experience and the prestige factor. You pay twice as much (maybe more) simply for fancy Italian naming and snooty "baristas". I'm just not into that whole image thing. Plenty of people are however. It's no skin off my teeth though, I just find it weird that it is so popular. I guess there are plenty of people out there with lots of money and not much self esteem.

Not sure about their food because I've never had any there but their beverages no. I really think they need to lower their prices. Coffee are watered down and stale sometimes, iced coffee or iced tea is warm on occasions. It just isn't worth it. I'd rather go to 7 eleven and get a strong cup of Colombian for under three bucks.
?
2016-10-29 11:15:44 UTC
Not really. I was charged $3 for a medium cup of almond milk. I would much rather go to a high end coffee shop and pay for something more authentic and delicious. I live in New York and there are many different choices when it comes to choosing where to get coffee or coffee-based drinks. The people in the suburbs, on the other hand, have limited options and are sometimes forced to choose Starbucks.

Here are my two farthings: I don't mean to knitpick about tidbits but one time I asked for an iced water with a cpl squirts of peppermint flavor, as I usually do when I can't afford much else before my next paycheck. I work a crappy part time job while studying, but I really enjoy hanging out in the warm and friendly environment, that genuine Starbucks places provide plus the one I go to is basically next door. It used to be that I'd just pay for the flavor, but now all of a sudden they call it a drink and charge for an iced tea. It's a FREE iced water with a 55 cent dose of flavor. Just one of many excuses to gauge more money out of people's wallets. Perhaps I should ask for the flavor in a seperate sample cup?

No. I never EVER go there unless I'm with someone who wants to go there.

I have to admit I do like the lemon pound cake.

But in general, the stuff is hideously over-priced. I cringe when I see my entry-level $15/hour employees drinking two Starbucks drinks a day while they are not bothering to contribute to their retirement plans (which has an employer match). It just drives me nuts.

Ten bucks a day times five days a week times 49 weeks a year = $2500/year plus the $2500 employer match they're losing out on.

In two years they could have 10k in their retirement but no, they'd rather make Howard Schultz even richer.

I feel their beverages are sometimes worth the price... but I do struggle with it because they don't measure out their espresso shots, steam milk to the correct texture, etc. basically, they aren't technically a high end coffee shop where to me it'd make a little more sense to pay those prices. Their food sucks though, I definitely don't think it's worth the price. But the brand name, having that logo on your cup, etc is essentially why it's so expensive. The quality... not so much.

yes and no. some of their drinks and food are terrific and reasonably priced. Frankly, I think their coffee is terrible. It is way to strong and their isn't enough cream to water it down.

Their bakery goods and now their new sandwich offerings are good. While it is nice to drop in for a Frappuccino once and a while, but it is not a place I frequent. I prefer Panera Bread and some of the smoothie chains more than Starbucks.

Food: some things yes like the almond crossaints, pumpkin muffin, bagels , yes. Other items like cake pop is too expensive 2$ for one bite is not that great of a price. Treat receipt is great I wish they had it all the time. Drinks are defiantly worth it, but only depending on what you get, if you're getting espresso, latte, and cappuccino, yes they're worth it. Regular black coffee is a great price 2,50 for a small/medium. once in a while I'll get a Frappuccino which is worth 6 dollars. Usually I will use my reward for that.
?
2016-10-25 13:06:48 UTC
It's not that much higher than a lot of restaurants for a coffee. I go for a treat every couple weeks or so. Good food (and in this case, drink) is worth the price if it is really good. I don't know of a single person who goes there every day.

No. I feel like it's overpriced...especially the specialty drinks. But I guess if you're wanting a specialty drink then you'll have to pay more anyway. I usually order a cold brew black, it's not horribly expensive...but it's a little too expensive for just black coffee. I don't buy from Starbucks very often just because it's not in the budget.

Some of their items such as the bagels, pieces of cake, and muffins are indeed worth it. However, most are not. I refuse to pay almost $2 for one bite of a cake pop. The drinks are mediocre in taste. $5 for a drink that is not even that good is a rip off. And that price is usually only for the smalls. I only go their if my friends or family want to and I get the cheapest things which is tea.

It all depends, I think your buying what looks like a lifestyle. There's a lot of promotion that goes in to it that make people want to buy it. But if you look closely the prices aren't to different then caribou coffee or ink coffee.

I like the pastries and such from ink coffee ,

But they don't have a wide selection like Starbucks has.

Their Food, it's not the best. Its definitely not worth it. Their coffe is really good, but 4 dollars for a lattee can be expensive if you go consistently. Itso worth it only if your in a rush for a cup of coffee and don't have time to make one at home. At the very end, their coffe is worth it, but it would be best and money sufficient to make your own coffee if you drink everyday like me.
?

Just buy Starbucks coffee at your local grocery.

You can get the coffee cheaper and made just right to your specification(s).

I nearly had sticker shock when I looked at their food prices. A local bakery ( since 1888) is cheaper and more yummy.

I had a hot chocolate and it was pretty good, still not worth the high price though.

everything starbucks sell is so high price. its one of most expensive fast food like places to buy coffee and food. Its no joke. while stores clean, quality customer service and baritas, very clean and sanitary, and good work ethic, its too high. mcdonalds is cheaper but they are renovating stores and jacking up their prices. starbucls sets a bad market trend

I've actually never had any food there other than their cake pops, which are amazing. I've repurchased their caramel frappe many times, but I must say McDonald's frappe's taste just the same or even better at times, also they are cheaper there. I always say if I can find it somewhere else cheaper for the same taste it's worth it.
