Question:
"Maccas" (Mcdonalds restaurants) is claiming that FAST FOOD is not responsible for obesity ?

in children and at best this information is "inconclusive"

http://au.news.yahoo.com/a/-/newshome/5008944

Is this the same horse pats that the cigarette companies where desperately peddling in the 1970s to show that cigarettes causing cancer was "inconclusive".

Perhaps McDonald's and there buddies are digging bunkers and would rather fight the same multimillion dollar lawsuits that the cigarette companies fought and lost and prefer to see their products sticker'd with warning labels and health messages just like cigarettes.

What would you like to see happen?

Obesity is caused by a combination of factors. The US has turned into a sediment society with its videos, pcs and cars. I rarely see kids running, riding bikes, or mowing the lawn. I see parents driving kids to the school bus stop that's only 2 blocks away. You cannot blame fast food for making kids fat b/c it's the parents that take them there.

Obesity cannot be blamed in one thing alone and to be honest, they don't stuff the food down your throat, you do. People are living a much less active life style in the last 50 years and if anyone was to blame, I would point the finger at the members of our "golden generation." The amount of fast food restaurants is amazing, but look at how and where we get our food from, and you may realize that man has tampered with everything, from the animals, to the processing. All this "technology" coming about after WWII where there was also a shift from manual labor to desk jobs as the norm.

In the end it is truly "buyer beware," because in the end we are the ones putting this stuff into our bodies.

I can't be bothered reading that news thing, but all I have to say is that people aren't forced to eat Maccas. They CAN walk past n go to like Subway or something.

People just need the will to not do things. And a lot of people don't have that

Just because the food id there does not mean you have to eat it. No ones putting a gun to anyones head and shoving it down their throat. If people quit eating it then eventually they will completely change the menu or go out of business. We need to take responsibility for our own actions and quit trying to blame everyone else.

No one is holding a gun to these peoples heads as they indulge in this fare. If they can read the menu, they can read about the bad things involved in consuming too much fast food.

It isn't responsible for obesity, son, YOU ARE. Does McDonald's force people to go into their stores, chain them to tables, and force feed them food? NO.

Ditto with cigarettes. No one FORCES YOU to try them.

A little PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY is called for in life. Stop blaming others for problems that can be resolved at home.

What would I like to see happen? NOTHING.

i eat McDonald's once a week almost religiously and I'm no where near fat. My cousin however who manages to convince my auntie to take her then just about when ever they go out is a total fat ****.

Thou it is typical to blame someone.something else for ones own problems ..actually take responsibility for your actions ? lol never

McDonald's food is junk. It is full of saturated fat, salt, sugar and the lethal trans-fatty acids.

People who eat it regularly will become obese, spotty, with poor circulation and bad bowels, and will probably die younger. It is proven beyond all doubt.

Plus they contribute massively to global warming and extreme animal abuse. They kill millions of cattle and chickens each year, while cutting down acres of forest.

You are better off eating their packaging.
