Taco Bell food?

I go to Taco Bell at least 2 times a week. But I noticed that everything is already prepared. Do they microwave their food ? I never see them cook

In the 80's Taco Bell would make everything by hand. 20 pounds of meat was cooked in a pan and sometimes 40 pounds was cooked at a time. the meat was cooked just like at home. It was cooked, drained and the seasoned then put in pans up front to be served. The beans (40 pounds)were cooked in a pressure cooker, then whipped up with a drill and then poured into pans for the front. 40 pound block of cheese was sliced then shredded. A box of heads of lettuce was halved then shredded. The sauces were hand mixed and put up front. The pico sauce was hand made. All the shells were fried before opening. Tomatoes were whole, sliced and diced. Green onions were hand chopped before opening. Noe everything is shipped done, opened and poured into trays and served up front. Few things are still fried but not like they were when I worked there.

All the meat at Taco Bell arrives precooked and frozen. They defrost it, boil the bags of meat in hot water to "heat it" and then they toss it in a warming tray until you place your order.



They don't cook anything.

Look again. Taco Bell has the meat, cheese, lettuce, etc. prepped. They then package your order up as it is received. No microwave involved.

They cook the food, not microwaved. But they premake the most demanded items for busy periods like lunch so that they can get people served faster. They keep them under warming lamps.
