I have been there for around 3 months now only doing weekends, because im in college fulltime.

I hate it there, the staff are moody they expect you to remember absoloutley everything, people spread rumours about you, and when they confront you i dont have a clue what to say. The managers seem to love the people that are more experienced and if you ever have a problem they always blame you, even though you have worked your backside off. I relativley new to the working world at only 16 years of age. Do you have any adivce?

First of all, don't burn any bridges yet because maybe you can switch to a different McDonald's. Not all McDonald's are that bad. You have every right to want to leave, but don't let those idiots create a negative mark against your performance because you want to have a good reputation when you move on to another place. Knowing this job won't last forever might help get you by and calm down your frustration. I understand that this is just a temporary job for you and most people, so it is difficult to put up with crapola, but if you need the money, stick it out for a while and spend your time looking for something else. Also, sometimes the dynamics change in a working environment after a while, due to turnover. I'm not saying to stay there, but don't leave until you find something better. Visit a few places and notice how the employees act. You might get a better vibe at some other location. Good luck.

Really? What do you expect? Its a fast food/retail job, pays only minimum wage. Of course your fellow employees will be moody, upset, and angry at you and the world. I've yet to meet a personal who makes only $7 bucks an hour, happy, while having the added pleasures of working with customers. So, don't take it personally.

On your management issue, management will always side with employees who are dependable. Experienced employees are ALWAYS more dependable than the new employees. The reason, they are considered "dependable", because they still work there. When you get some work experience under your belt, you'll quickly realize that new employees tend to quit after a few months of working (especially in fast food industry). Your manager will not attempt to gain a rapport with you knowing you may leave tomorrow.

The only advise I can give you is, suck it up and stop complaining. You're NOT at work to make friends. You work to make MONEY. Go the work, do the job, collect your paycheck on Friday's. All that other stuff (i.e. workplace friendships, etc) is not required. Keep all that unnecessary workplace stress off yourself. Stay on course ... and collect that paycheck.

Month 1 - 6: you are classed as cannon-fodder and are easily disposable.

Month 7 - 12: They may start leaving you more alone and start picking on some other 'newbie'.

If you have lasted this long you deserve a medal and will start being treated with more respect.

Fast food outlets go through a huge amount of staff and it is normal to be treated badly - stand up for yourself and don't be pushed around by the older employees.

what? your not LOVING IT! KIDDING , but I know what you mean but don't quit try looking for a new job maybe in stocking in the back of store or night shifts, anything you would be more to yourself in I understand you perfectly been there, and yes it is confusing at times it is a fast paced place and customers can be up your face at times but you will be okay just take a weekend at a time till you find a new job :)) Try applying at a pet smart if u like animals grocery store bagging thing or getting cart even sign twirling ,(around 10$& up a hour) its good money take your mp3 player a snack and enjoy your job and like some here said go in with a positive attitude and respect your work place and hopefully they'll do the same good luck!

I've been working there since September.

I can totally relate to you!

Theres really not much you can do about this, other than just work. Try to get better at it.

A job is a job, and as much as it sucks, at least theres a reward in the pay.

Keep your head up high and dont let it get to you too much. I had a hard time with the people too.

It can get better and you can meet a few nice people.. who are actually true and genuine.

I have to deal with alot of fake people and drama every day at work.

I would steer away from fast food as much as possible. If you don't have to work...quit and find something better. I have personally worked at fast food for over 5 years now and I hate it too. You don't get paid enough and the job is too stressful and people are rude. That's just my advice though. Good luck and keep going to school.

Waiting tables would probably be better. Look for a new job while you're working there. It will boost your mood to know that you've got one foot out the door, and you can have a new job without a break in pay.

If you are not liking it, then find another job and quit the one you have. No sense being unhappy. Find something you love to do and have fun doing it. It sounds like this McDonald's is not to friendly. Look for something better.

If you are in college and need a job why not get on a work study program that lets you study in between jobs they have for you.

quit. if your job makes you feel like crap, you're earning minimum wage and yet you are working your butt off, its really not worth it. and try finding a new job before quitting if you're worried about being jobless inbetween
