Why did Canadian McDonald's pull the Filet o Fish off the menu?

I live in the Southern British Columbia region, and I've noticed that this menu item has not been on there for at least a year or two. However, one can still order it, just that it's not on the menu. Why would this be? Are they trying to phase it out?

No McDonald's Canada is not phasing out the Filet o Fish. The reason they have changed their menu board is because they are re-designing the way most Canadian McDonald's look and that means they are changing the menu boards too.

Since, Filet o Fish is not a very popular sandwich they will still serve them but they do not have to display it. This year McDonald's Canada will be launching plenty of new menu options and they will need the menu board space to show the new products.

But do not worry Filet o Fish will always be available in large restaurants. But in some Wal-Mart locations they will not be serving Fish.

Well, honestly, along with the fact that it really does sell even though you may not like it, McDonald's tries to appeal to every type of person, including vegetarians. While they can't eat meat, they can still eat fish, and no one wants to be limited to only salad at the place they eat at. And besides, I'm sure that if they got rid of it, people would complain. The McRibs, along with other really good limited time offers are promotional items that they only keep around for a certain amount of time because they were just trying to reign in more business. It is really sad, but Mountain Dew does it too. Their different types of soda, like Live Wire only stays for some time before it disappears again, to many people's dismay.
